Position Summary You are an innovative storyteller with a passion for designing and producing video, graphical and interactive content that inspires audiences to engage and take action. You thrive on having broad yet deep expertise in the latest techniques and technology needed to design quality creative media. The Multimedia Designer & Production Specialist is a critical member of the Communications team helping to raise awareness of ZERO TO THREE and deeply engage core audiences in our mission. You consistently think outside of the box to provide video production (pre-production, production, post-production editing) and a wide range of multimedia design services, including photography, photo compositing, artwork, multimedia presentations, animation, motion graphics, visual effects, social ads, infographics, web, email and occasionally print design. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduce and coordinate videos, photoshoots, digital graphics, and other multimedia content that is fresh, compelling and inspires our core audiences (including parents, professionals and policymakers) to engage and take actionDesign a variety of graphics and help source photos for use on digital and print projects including but not limited to video projects, infographics, email, website slide presentations, digital ad graphics, etc.Serve as in-house videographer, operating video and photography cameras, teleprompter, lighting, and sound equipment for recording of presentations, events and other multimedia projectsPrepare and present cohesive, multi-dimensional creative concepts to support internal and external campaigns and priority projectsParticipate in planning, messaging development and creative sessions to elevate content and campaign developmentOversee project flow of all design/media production projects, including serving as creative liaison with in-house team, creative agencies, vendors and freelancers and production coordinator for video and photography projects involving outside contractorsOversee proofing process by delivering proofs internally and/or digitally, obtaining approvals and shepherding changes quickly through in-house production and outside vendors; Ensuring design consistency across all deliverablesConsistently deliver projects on deadline while managing work through a creative project management systemManage all current project files and archives for media production/design projects, including all design files, artwork, editorial/design proofs, photos, videos, audio files, etc.Oversee use and maintenance of multimedia equipment and media studioResearch and recommend equipment and software updates based on industry best practicesStay abreast of digital design trends. Learn and develop new design skills as well as continued growth through attending design conferences and trainingPerforms other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department Essential Skills and ExperienceMinimum 3 years of experience in graphic design and multimedia design with a strong portfolio exhibiting exceptional design aesthetic, mastery of typography, and overall creativity (including, videography, photography, animation, illustration, interactive creative elements and print design)2+ years design production experienceExpert proficiency with Adobe production design tools, including Premiere, After Effects, Audition and PhotoshopAbility to create graphics and short videos for marketing campaigns, including social media platforms (eg Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and web and emailKnowledge of HTML CSS animations, and front-end best practices a plusStrong understanding of the importance of brand identity and creating multi-channel content with cohesive brand voiceConceptual thinking and creative problem solving to take a project from ideation to completionHighly creative with the ability to work autonomously, yet able to take direction wellCollaborative, proactive team player with a positive attitude and high level of energy able to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational skills with ability to effectively balance multiple projects, deadlines and deliverables in a fast-paced environmentExcellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly articulate both design decisions/rationaleStrong customer-service orientationKeen attention to detailA passion for continued learning on emerging creative platforms and technologies and ways to implement those at ZERO TO THREE Essential QualitiesEncourages and practices critical thinkingIs self-reflective and empathicRecognizes the influence of workplace relationships on outcomes and resultsMaintains a respectful and accepting approach to othersAwareness of the influence of the larger context on individual behaviorCollaboratively and creatively supports the work efforts of colleagues at all levels and in all areas of the organization EducationBachelor's degree (BA) in marketing, communications, multimedia, graphic design, digital marketing, or related field. Physical RequirementsWhile performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is frequently required to use finger dexterity as well as sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen. Also may need to remain seated for long periods of time, have the ability to perform repetitive motions, and hear well enough to detect nuances and receive detailed information. The employee may be required to walk, grasp objects, push or pull objects, bend, squat, reach, stand, or kneel. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for preparing and analyzing data. Working ConditionsThe work conditions described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing this job. Depending on work location, the incumbent will typically work indoors in a heated and air-conditioned office, with a mixture of natural, incandescent and fluorescent light with low to moderate noise levels or be subject to working conditions conducive to a home office. When travel is expected the incumbent will be exposed to outside environmental conditions during those times.
