Eastern Branch Demolition is looking for a Estimator with at least four years of demolition/construction experience to assist our Pre-Construction and Project Management teams in the Washington District of Columbia Metropolitan Area. The candidate will collect and analyze data in order to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to manufacture a product, construct a building, or provide a service. The candidate must be goal driving, detailed oriented, able to time manage and prioritize tasks. The Pre-Construction and Project Management teams works together from bid start to project completion and the candidate must be someone who is a great team player and has a positive attitude. Duties and Responsibilities:Manages pre-construction process for assigned projects.Travels to job sites to gather information on materials needed and labor required.Analyzes specifications and technical documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.Prepares estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.Confers with contractors and subcontractors on cost estimates.Prepares cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.Assesses cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.Sets up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.Reviews material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.Prepares and maintains a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.Evaluates a product's cost-effectiveness or profitability.Recommends ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable.Reports to the Pre-Construction Manager.*The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Ability to understand and interpret safety laws and Eastern Branch Demolition policies/standards.Ability to assure responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.Ability to communicate effectively and work productively with clients, owners, project professionals, and field and office staff.Ability to use a computer, the Internet, and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and email software.Ability to review draft demolition/construction documents and drawings.Highly proficient in various business processes and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat and or BlueBeam. Education and/or Experience:High School Diploma required.Education: Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.Experience: At least 4 years' experience as an estimator.Experience in the demolition/construction industry is strongly preferred.
