Baltimore City Department of Social Services Administrative Program Manager II/Communications DirectorThe purpose of the Program Manager II for this position is responsible for designing and implementing internal and external communications for the priority initiatives of the Department. This includes the creation, planning, coordination and management of the Baltimore City Department of Social Services' (BCDSS) integrated marketing, public relations and communications Unit. This position works with both external and internal communications to ensure that high quality and accurate information is made available in a timely fashion. The Communications Director acts with urgency and ensures messaging is made in a proactive manner. Also develops and manages the implementation of initiatives focused on enhancing employee morale and wellness. The Communications Director is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with news media, editors, reporters, Communication Officers, partner organizations, institutions, and government officials and their staff to ensure an adequate array of audiences and outlets for BCDSS messages.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Writing or other similar related fields.Experience: Three (3) years of experience in public information, public relations, journalism or other related experience in publicity or promotional work.Salary - $58,168 - $84,983 with growth potential to $ 93,395.Closing Date: June 28, 2019.
