Apex Systems has an opening for a UX Designer! This designer will be joining a team of designers and developers working with some research and some design! The designer will be working with Sketch tools. This role is in the banking and financial services industry. Who we're looking for: A talented UX Designer with strong research skills and a flair for content to join our team. You have a background in digital, geek out about the latest technologies, and believe that no digital experience is perfect unless it delights customers in ways they never knew were important - but now can't live without. You have an exuberant passion for the power of strategic design and an "anything's possible" mindset. You're not cynical or inflexible. You're proud of your work, your skill, your experience and your expertise and you want to be part of something great. Here are some specifics: * Understanding of interface and interaction patterns and best practices for various platforms, as well as experience working within a responsive design framework. * Understanding of human centered design and UX practices. Interest in partnering with other designers that specialize in content, strategy, and research on user research, journey maps and user flows. * Experience creating prototypes that showcase design concepts and interaction patterns. * Ability to quickly deliver multiple, inventive ideas that are fresh and simple while solving complex customer and business needs. Confidence in sharing in-progress work with team mates. * Ability to clearly communicate your design decisions with the team and craft elegant presentation and storytelling capabilities. * Understanding and utilization of Lean and Agile methodologies. * Research the latest technologies, best practices, and online trends to provide recommendations for the team. * Participate in or facilitate workshops and design thinking exercises to get your collaborators and stakeholders actively engaged in problem definition & problem solving. * Proficiency with current design tools (Adobe CC, Sketch, Invision, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, etc) Who you are: You're a UXer who is proactive and passionate about crafting a great experience, and communicating in plain language - making the complex simple. You love designing solutions that solve customer problems, with humanity. You're a strong collaborator who can work across Design, Product, Engineering and Marketing. You're a natural storyteller, a systems thinker, and a designer of content whom people want to work with. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or military experience * At least 3 years of experience with user experience (UX) design * At least 3 years of experience designing digital products * At least 2 years of experience working with Agile product development teams or at least 2 years of experience working with Lean product development teams Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in Design, Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, or comparable experience * 2+ years designing in iOS * 5+ years of experience with user experience design * 5+ years of experience with information architecture * 5+ years of experience creating prototypes at various levels of fidelity * 5+ years' experience with standard digital design tools (eg Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, Axure, etc.) * Experience in game studies or game design.
