Greenspring Associates is growing! We are looking to hire a Director of Fund Management. The Director of Fund Management will lead the middle office team, which will act as a key conduit between the Investment and Accounting teams at Greenspring Associates. The Director of Fund Management will play a significant role in conducting operational due diligence, analyzing the quarterly valuations of the Fund's direct investments, helping to review and prepare quarterly and annual reporting for the Firm's limited partners, and facilitating other strategic reporting projects for the Firm. Greenspring Associates, a venture capital platform with $9B under management, invests in established and emerging venture capital fund managers, in expansion stage venture-backed companies and in secondary investments in venture capital funds and companies. Originally founded in 2000, the Firm now has over 70 employees with offices in Baltimore, Maryland and Palo Alto, California. Notable investments include Accel, Benchmark, Founders Fund, and NEA, as well as Chewy.com, ExactTarget, DocuSign, Scopely and Mulesoft. Key Accountabilities & ResponsibilitiesLead the operational due diligence process as the Firm evaluates prospective venture capital fund managers.Take responsibility for the organization of quarterly valuation deliverables and related supporting documentation. Review and analyze financial valuations and exit forecasts for fund portfolio companies as prepared by the Investment team. Coordinate and review quarterly and annual reporting to limited partners on the performance of Greenspring portfolio companies and fund investments.Other ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned, including:Collect and report miscellaneous performance metrics;Respond to investor requests for information;Support Investment Team heads in preparation of presentations for investor meetings;Complete specific projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Experience6 to 10 years of experience in public accounting with a track record of outperformancePosition-specific technical requirementsAdvanced Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint) skills requiredAbility to operate in a demanding and fast paced environment and balance multiple tasksSignificant overtime as well as availability outside of normal business hours required frequently, especially during quarterly valuation and reporting cyclesSelf-starterStrong interpersonal skills a mustArticulate, polished and well-rounded with strong organizational skills and attention to detailDemonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a teamAbility to succeed in a matrix organization with multiple areas of responsibilitiesHigh integrity and must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary mattersLimited travel as needed to support operational due diligence requirements BenefitsGreenspring Associates, Inc. salaries and benefits are among the best in the business.
