Lane's unique combination of capabilities includes public-private partnerships/innovative financing and joint ventures; large, complex design-build and bid-build projects; and the ability to produce and install asphalt, aggregates and concrete.Job DescriptionThe Walker will schedule all Tunneling related daily activities and coordinate field crews through directives given to foremen as well as plan and schedule all requirements to control labor, equipment and material costs. This individual will be responsible for the timely completion of assigned operations and stay within budget. The ideal candidate should be flexible with working hours.Responsibilities:Including but not limited to:Safely direct works, perform daily JHA toolbox with Formemen and crewOversee field personnel, daily/weekly schedules, and construction operationsSupervise and schedule construction crews and subcontractors dailyProvide leadership and direction to construction personnelManage crew as well as coordinate work with other Tunnel Shift Supervisor and subcontractorsOrganize and efficiently perform shift change meeting with other WalkersAssist in On-the-Job trainingTake an active role in emphasizing safety, quality and production, leading by exampleAssist Engineers with quantities and productionsCoordinate equipment and crews and other job related activities to maximize efficiencyPerform additional assignments as needed, including actively assisting mechanics in TBM maintenance, and conveyor belt installationDevelop and train Foremen and Craft WorkersEnsure that ALL resources assigned are maintained, protected, secured and used at optimum efficiencyUnderstand project budgets and productions to manage personnel and equipment efficientlyHave a working knowledge of all required plans and specificationsDevelop Foreman through mentoringAssist with survey and field layoutCarry out job duties while maintaining Lane valuesAnd other duties as assignedQualifications:Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in tunnelingDemonstrated decision making skillsAbility to work in high production environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWorking knowledge of JDEdwardsWorking understanding of types of equipment necessary for productionAbility to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlinesMust have strong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent team building skills is a mustDemonstrated ability to be flexible and quickly adaptable to changing conditions across all spectrums.Demonstrated and verifiable ability to manage, supervise, schedule, and delegate on large and complicated projectsLane Construction offers a comprehensive benefits package with an excellent opportunity to grow and be part of one of the most respected names in the construction industry.
