Description of Responsibilities Harmonics Consulting is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer to support our federal client s Cloud-native Application development effort. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology with good understanding of their applicability to business, a relentless focus on the customer experience and an ability to multitask, assimilate data, make decisions and prioritize complex work while paying attention to the details. As a member of our partner s system operations team you will be directly responsible for the successful support and operations of our customers Microsoft and Linux-based solutions built on the AWS cloud. Communication with customers, vendors and co-workers in a clear and professional manner is an absolute must. Candidates must be fungible, willing and able to learn new tools and technologies in support of a very diverse set of customers. US Citizenship is required. Responsibilities include Provide expertise to front-end and back-end software developers and the Release Management Team to reduce the security risks of the applications built by the team by discovering security risks and vulnerabilities and assisting with remediation. Assists with introducing new technologies, such as Docker and Apache Mesos, by documenting best practice guidelines for the developer team serves as a strong advocate for a DevOps team by presenting new technologies to Cyber Security, addressing concerns. Translates security requirements into guiding principles for developer team. Provides expertise to the technical team in the configuration of microservices and container services, specifically Docker, with a focus on configuring secure systems. Writes automated security tests relevant to Docker, Elasticsearch, Scala, Node.js, Mesos, using various tools such as BDD, Linter, and Checkmarks. Has experience automating pre-production software security tests using continuous integration systems, like Jenkins. Assists developer team with security focus through participation in daily standup meetings, monitoring code development and creating issues in Github, identifying opportunities. Demonstrated success with 3+ years of experience in a role where he or she has demonstrated an ability to implement large scale infrastructure using CI CD pipeline and industry best practices. Function as part of the DevOps team to assist in andor implement all aspects of the software development lifecycle requirements generation, design, code, verification and test, and maintenance. Design and generate code following software coding and design standards, applicable solution documentation, and established practices that are consistent with the overall system architecture. Be a passionate advocate for DevOps culture. Clearly communicate current status in an effective and professional manner. Collaborate with security and engineering teams to deliver world class software through an open source security platform. Work with other DevOps team members to ensure smooth operations of AWS, Microsoft and other public and private Cloud hosted workload Providing root-cause analysis, contributes to knowledge base, and provides recommendations for continuous improvements to workflow, process, and technology. Required Skills Experience and understanding with Cloud and Virtualization technologies Proficient at modern orchestration tools and how to create custom software applications from bottom to top. Experience with highly available and high-performance open source web technologies Strong experience with SQL, MySQL and NoSQL A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl andor Ruby) Strong skill set with Chef, Puppet, Jenkins and Ansible Familiar with Docker, Mesos, and AWS ECS Agile Test Driven Development (TDD) Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service Independent, self-motivated worker Work may often require direct interaction with team members without direct supervision. You must be able to think on your feet, communicate constantly and professionally, and above all else meet the expectations of our clients. Experienced working with environments with a heavy security focus Experience applying written and verbal communication skills effectively to include the following Analytic, Organization, and Customer Service Skills Problem solving skills the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and tight deadlines. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and support 247365 production environments Candidates must be a US Citizen Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Required Experience 5 years of Systems Administration experience supporting enterprise datacenter cloud solutions Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience desirable Seasoned Technical Veteran with 3+ years of demonstrated success in a similar DevOps Engineer role AWS Certified Developer or Solution Architect certification is desirable but not required.
