OneMain Financial seeks to fill an attorney position within its Legal Department. The ideal candidate will provide a wide range of legal advice to OneMain Financial, a nationwide consumer finance business with 10,000 employees and 1,600 retail locations. The attorney will perform various duties including but not limited to: providing advice on employment issues, conducting legal research and analysis related to OneMains business and employment practices; analyzing state and federal laws for employment law changes and communicating those changes to appropriate departments within the business; confirming compliance with a vast array of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations; providing support for preparing responses to agency charges and conducting internal investigations; providing advice regarding employment benefit plans; interacting with regulatory agencies regarding employment issues; managing outside counsel on employment litigation matters; and drafting legal memoranda of various topics. The position will provide legal support to various functional areas within the business, particularly with regard to human resources and employment issues..Candidates should have a minimum of five years attorney experience in employment law; a JD from an accredited law school; active admission to a state bar; and be able to problem-solve and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects. Experience with Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, similar state laws, and handling or managing employment litigation a plus. Excellent analytical, writing and verbal skills required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with the business and regulators required.#LI-SL1
