Reporting to the Director of Development, this position will coordinate Development programs, assist in fundraising through writing grant requests and appeal letters, be responsible for donation entry and donor acknowledgement processes, and provide administrative, coordination and project management support to Director of Development. Essential duties include the following: Responsible for the donation entry and donor acknowledgement process for NHF and NHPCO, including collaboration with involved departments (Solutions Center, Accounting and IT), ensuring data integrity with appropriate data entry procedures, and generating, editing, and mailing acknowledgement/notification letters. Coordinates the Lighthouse of Hope program, from acceptance or denial of application to receipt of financial records from the applicant. Serves as a point of contact for the hospice team member, coordinates with Accounting to distribute funds, collects receipts and cross-checks financial records, and generates reports for Development and Communications on granted experiences. Researches opportunities for grants, drafts grant letters and applications for NHF and NHPCO programs. Assists with developing budgets and reports for grants and coordinates the submission of required reports to the grantor. Assists with budget oversight, tracking, coding of bills and check requests preparation. Takes and maintains minutes of Council meetings, donor meetings, etc. Coordinates with Communications team to write, schedule and send appeal letters and emails to donors. Assists in development of appeal strategies and timing. Provides procedural and technical support to Director of Development with several aspects of the Gala, including but not limited to, the auction; procurement, promotion, and online bidding platform; and sponsorship benefit/promotion and collection. Coordinates with Philanthropy's third-party fundraising affiliates, including philanthropic partnerships with for-profit hospices, Tributes.com, TisBest Charity Gift Cards, etc. Responsible for generating and distributing monthly reports and ensuring fees are paid on time. Organizes, schedules and submits applications for participation in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and state and local campaigns for NHPCO, fulfilling all requirements and managing multiple deadlines. Participates in and assists with donor stewardship activities, including collaboration with Communications on stewardship emails. Collaborates with the Communications department to promote activities in NHPCO and affiliate organization newsletters and other materials; and to cultivate media relationships particularly in support of events/signature activities. Supports the general activities of the Development department, including but not limited to, pulling queries and reports from the database, handling inquiries (telephone and online), assisting with fundraising special events, exhibits at conferences, and additional related fundraising activities.
