The Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) is a leading professional association for the public policy research field. The 2,600 individual members of APPAM include academics, practitioners, and students. The 100 institutional members of APPAM include graduate and undergraduate schools of public policy and management, and many leading policy research organizations and think tanks. APPAM sponsors an annual public policy research conference with 2,500 attendees, an annual international conference, two regional student conferences, several award programs, a professional journal-the quarterly Journal of Policy Analysis and Management (JPAM)-and several other special programs. More information can be found at APPAM.org. There are currently 8 staff people and the budget for the organization is $1.6 million. The Communications and Marketing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all communications, marketing, and web functions for APPAM; specifically, all communications with the APPAM membership, non-members and the public policy community. Responsibilities Include: Communications Creation and maintenance of all content on APPAM.org Manage the CMS system for text/images/page architecture and navigation within APPAM.org Manage all communications with members, including a series of newsletters Create and employ a communications plan for coverage of all APPAM events on APPAM.org,including coverage of APPAM's Fall Research Conference Manage external volunteers for all events to ensure that each event is well covered on the website and on social media Opportunity to develop content/products that promotes the cutting edge research APPAM members do and is of interest to the field. Marketing Create and maintain marketing timeline and master editorial calendar for APPAM and all staff members Work with all APPAM staff to create a marketing strategy for each APPAM event Work with journal authors for promotion and marketing of articles published in JPAM, APPAM's flagship journal Ensure that all messages that members/non-members/public policy community receive are cohesive and well branded Work with graphic designer to create a look and feel for all marketing pieces and conference programs APPAM produces, both in print and digitally Work within the APPAM membership database to create, reference and utilize target lists for marketing initiatives Miscellaneous Ensure that the content on APPAM.org is rich, engages various stakeholder groups and utilizes all kinds of media (text, video, audio, etc.) Create framework to connect APPAM to global policy and scholarly communities Manage the design processes for APPAM's Fall Conference Final Program - a 100+ page program, in conjunction with the other APPAM staff and outside graphic designer Ability to think strategically and help APPAM determine its strategic communication and marketing priorities to achieve success PandoLogic.
