IOCC is a member of the ACT Alliance, a global coalition of more than 140 churches and agencies engaged in development, humanitarian assistance and advocacy, and a member of InterAction, the largest alliance of US-based secular and faith-based organizations working to improve the lives of the world's most poor and vulnerable populations.SummaryThe Outreach Coordinator works to ensure the success of awareness and fundraising efforts undertaken by IOCC Metropolitan Committees, volunteers, and parishes, cultivating and managing those relationships through various communications; building trust in the organization; tracking and managing event planning, event revenue; equipping volunteers to share IOCC information at the local level.Critical skills required for this position include the ability to cultivate and maintain solid, effective relationships with IOCC supporters throughout the United States and to manage multiple projects successfully.Based in IOCC Headquarters office in Baltimore; mostly sitting, extensive computer and phone work; some handling and light lifting of materials. Travel required to support volunteer-led events and to maintain relationships. Responsibilities and Essential Functions. Work closely with and oversee local volunteers, parishes, and Metropolitan Committees to plan, manage, and execute multiple Outreach events in assigned region each year, spread awareness, and promote outreach opportunities.. Communicate regularly with volunteers to share best practices and activities that support IOCC's mission, guiding volunteers in knowledge of IOCC's work and equipping them as ambassadors.. Travel to several events each year to promote IOCC and its mission, to cultivate and strengthen relationships between supporters and IOCC HQ, and to ensure that financial procedures are followed and donor information collected.. Create and execute plans to recruit and retain new volunteers, Metropolitan Committee members, and parish representatives.. Responsible for the successful attainment of revenue goals, for expanding volunteer roster, and for maintaining steady growth for Outreach events in assigned region.. Work with Manager of Outreach, Special Events, and Donor Engagement to strategize and build additional engagement opportunities, means of volunteer fundraising and awareness building.. Manage creation of properly branded IOCC promotional materials for volunteers; support them in establishing event timelines, reaching out to local donors, inviting local clergy and hierarchs to events as appropriate.. Process all financials from Outreach events and volunteer activities, overseeing online registration, tracking payments, collecting checks, reconciling expenses, etc.. Mail IOCC materials to parish representatives, volunteers for events, churches for parish visits, contacts for annual conferences, and others as requested.. Collaborate with Donor Services to ensure that volunteers are coded and annotated accurately in Raiser's Edge.. Write copy for event-related promotional materials, including online communication and emails, updates to volunteers, and letters to clergy/hierarchs as appropriate. Collaborate with Communications Manager on event press releases and promotional tools for volunteers, and the Digital Marketing Manager on online campaigns and digital communications for volunteers.. Work closely with Outreach Manager to complete country-wide communications to volunteers, create content for monthly Volunteer Update e-newsletter, annual thank-you campaigns, and other volunteer communications as needed.. Use donor database Raiser's Edge to provide event finance information to Metropolitan Committees, volunteers, and event chairs, and pull donor information for event mailings and emails.. Ensure that individual volunteers are familiar with IOCC processes and procedures (best practices manual, financial standards), anticipating potential issues and answering questions as they arise.. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to initiate, build, maintain relationships with volunteers, cultivate trust in the organization through regular communication, managing volunteer personalities and varying needs. Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to consistently communicate IOCC processes and procedures, and balance volunteer requests with organizational standards. Knowledge of event planning, especially in nonprofit context; project management skills: ability to keep multiple events on track simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and questions as they arise. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with fundraising software (Blackbaud and Raiser's Edge preferred); ability to learn new software programs/platforms. Familiarity with nonprofit communications and international humanitarian aid. Knowledge of Orthodox Church hierarchy preferred.Competencies: Ability to cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with volunteers. Communicate effectively and strategically. High-level organization skills, ability to track and document activities, finances, communication. Self-directed and requiring minimal supervision.Education: College degree required.Experience: Minimum two years of volunteer management and event-management experience preferred. Work in nonprofit/international NGO sector preferred.
