Seeking a Scientist IV for a 2 year assignment in Rockville, MD. Job Description: Conduct and participate in molecular virology projects. Implement laboratory experiments to build and analyze oncolytic viruses under the guidance of a Senior Scientist and provide high quality data in a timely manner. At any given time, he/she will perform a wide and complex variety of assays, tests and studies, including but not limited to: DNA/RNA purification, restriction enzyme digests, PCR, ligation reaction, bacterial transformation and culture, co-transfection of cell lines, viral selection, plaque purification, and propagation of virus and plaque assays. Work in the laboratory to build oncolytic viruses using molecular virology techniquesQualifications: Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences with a minimum of five years of related experience or a recent PhD graduate. Prior research experience in molecular virology or molecular biology. Experience in genetic design and molecular manipulation of HSV-1 or Vaccinia virus preferred. Able to execute and interpret in vitro studies with supervision, independently interpreting data and proposing next steps Ability to contribute to the preparation and submission of technical data reports This role is based in Rockville, MD.
