The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the VDI and Mobility Engineering teams at Freddie Mac. The candidate establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate team members and leads. Establishes and assures adherence to IT governance and system performance/availability requirements.

Your Work Falls into Two Primary Categories:

Leadership
  • Lead a highly talented team of infrastructure engineering and administration professionals who with others define, manage and support the virtual desktop & mobile infrastructure.
  • Resource planning and overall development plan for team.
  • Motivate, organize, mentor, and manage team members
  • Establish Operational plans in support of products you are responsible for.
  • Communicate effectively with key stake holders to identify the needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions and strategies.
  • Establish KPIs for services and products you are responsible for and drive positive influence on those KPIs
  • Continually define ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.

Engineering Design & Delivery
  • Ensure consistent delivery and adoption of end user capabilities while simultaneously enhancing the user experience and overall productivity.
  • Help drive the design, build and production readiness of Virtual Desktop & Mobile platform solutions, implementation of best practices for infrastructure governance, architecture, engineering, production support and service Management for end user services.
  • Ensure comprehensive disaster recovery architecture is maintained and operations are in place to ensure compliance with required RPOs and RTOs during business continuity events for end-user desktop and mobile technologies.
  • Transition from traditional application delivery methods to Modern Management methods.


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of related experience and 2 years' experience in leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge & prior hands on implementation experience of end user technologies including but not limited to: Windows Desktop & Server technologies, VDI, SCCM, Active Directory, VMware ESXi, Hyperconverged Infrastructure, Microsoft Exchange and O365.
  • Prior experience with scripting and automation using (PowerShell, Shell, Perl or Python)
  • Experience in championing change and effectively managing project/program implementation
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and planning at a strategic, global level. Ability to translate strategic plans into specific objectives, and to create and execute project plans to achieve objectives.
  • Functional understanding of project management principles and their application to Infrastructure projects and teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities and excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • College Degree or equivalent experience
