Fire & Rescue System Chief

Prince William County Government in Virginia is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Fire and Rescue System Chief. As our next Fire and Rescue (F&R) System Chief, you will be afforded the exciting opportunity to lead over 700 civilian and uniformed staff and 600 volunteers.  The F&R System Chief is responsible for developing goals, objectives, policies and procedures; supervising all operational and administrative matters; preparing and implementing an annual $167 million dollar budget and participating in civic programs, disaster preparedness activities and fire and injury prevention and safety campaigns.  
 
As one of two accredited, fire-based paramedic programs in the Commonwealth of VA, we offer our staff the opportunity to take an intensive 49-week Paramedic program in-house. 


We require education and experience equivalent to a BA degree and 5yrs of experience in state or local fire and rescue and 3yrs of supervisory experience.
