Summary

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will serve as the JS J6 Architecture & Integration Division, Architecture Analysis and Information Sharing Branch Chief. As the DoD wide, principle lead for the architecture development and analysis of joint warfighting capability needs based upon Joint Strategic Planning System guidance, the incumbent supervises and performs work characterized by an exceptional degree of complexity and responsibility.

Responsibilities

As a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (ENTARCH) at the GS-2210-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serve as technical advisor to Joint Staff and DoD senior level executives on matters relating to architecture development in support of Joint Force and Joint Capability Development.
  • Supervise the development of DoD-wide enterprise level business requirements, change impacts, policies and technical solutions for the WMA architecture federation, integration and information sharing including cyber security, system hardware, software, corresponding data and related schema.
  • Leads or provide direction for specific ad hoc projects, special studies and/or continuing programs that are of special interest to the director or related to the DoD-wide activities of the office.
  • Direct the work of the government civilian and assigned contractor personnel who are primarily system analysts, enterprise architects, application software developers, database administrators and configuration managers providing architecture information organization and sharing, technical content management, web and database design and security, and hosting services.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Analyze, and verify feasibility of implementing a total system architectural design that includes capability requirements, operational processes, hardware, software, IT services, communication systems, and networks
  • Develop, implement and validate warfighting, architecture development requirements in all DoD-wide guidance and directives.
  • Conduct detailed technical analysis, development and management of IT and operational systems architectures for capabilities development.
In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series.

    This position is part of the DoD Cybersecurity Workforce and DoD Information Assurance Workforce Information Assurance (Cyber Security) Manager (IAM) Level III Certification required.
