Seeking a US Patent Prosecution Assistant to join a busy IP practice in DC. In this role the incumbent will prepare various documents required by clients and the U.S. Patent and Trademark office in support of client patent applications.

Duties:

-Preparing and electronically filing documents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including certificate of correction, POAs, 3.73 statements, and corrected Application Data Sheets for groups of cases transferred in.

-Reviewing for accuracy and preparing reporting letters to the client for Official Filing Receipts, Notices of Publication, Issue Notifications, and Recordation of Assignment.

-Preparing and filing requests for corrected Official Filing Receipts-Assist with additional duties as assigned by Firm timekeepers and management.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

- BS/BA Degree required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in patent prosecution.
- Must be extremely knowledgeable of and current U.S., PCT prosecution and worldwide patent policies and procedures, including 37 C.F.R and MPEP Rules and Regulations.
- Must have good knowledge of the USPTO structure, system, rules and procedures.
- Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, including demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with often competing client enforced deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, staff and timekeepers.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, proficiency in PATRICIA docketing databases or other similar docketing software package.
- Flexibility to work overtime may be required.
