The University of Maryland University College (UMUC) seeks an Assistant Director - Shady Grove. Under the supervision, the Regional Director the Assistant Director is responsible for training, development, and supervision of the Advising staff at Shady Grove.

The position will oversee day-to-day operations and ensure service standards and targeted enrollments are met. The Regional Center Operations staff is responsible for providing student services that could include advising (face-to-face, phone, and e-mail), test proctoring and front desk reception.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Supervision of up to 10 staff providing student services.
  • Monitor and evaluate individual and team productivity levels through various channels and provide metrics on advisor performance, productivity, and outreach activities on a weekly, monthly, annually and ad hoc basis.
  • Analyze team schedules, operating hours and call times in order to provide recommendations to leadership on optimal staffing levels by shift and unit.
  • Coordinate business processes that ensure students receive timely and exemplary service through the admission, advising, and registration processes at RCO locations.
  • Assist with the development of business processes and forge relationships with internal partners to provide an exceptional experience for students.
  • Collect, analyze, and track enrollment and productivity metrics.
  • Assist with department-wide outreach, enrollment, and advising services.
  • Identify and satisfy individual and team training needs, opportunities, and business process improvement.
  • Work in conjunction with other Assistant Directors in Regional Center Operations to coordinate efforts.
  • Some weekend and evening hours are required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of enrollment management trends as it pertains to meeting targeted enrollment goals using advanced technology and other mediums.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both internal and external groups with a cultural, racial and ethnically diverse background.
  • Strong commitment to world-class customer service.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Master's degree and minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions.
