Responsibilities

This position serves as the UAS Stakeholder and Committee Liaison. Performs multiple,varying, and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge applicable to his/her discipline to plan and conduct functions such as building and maintaining relationships with internal and external UAS stakeholders through active outreach and engagement. Provides administrative, communications, and technical support to facilitate the UAS Integration Office's stakeholder engagement strategy and provides leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager or Executive. The incumbent reports to the AUS-10 Executive Office.

Initiates and maintains effective and appropriate communication with stakeholders in an effort to advance the mission of the UAS Integration Office and the FAA. Actively seeks industry- related data, news, and product information in order to stay abreast of the potential impacts on the UAS industry that might affect Agency policy or position as it relates to the Agency's mission of integrating UAS into the nation's airspace.

Responsible for acting as committee support specialist and Agency secretariat representative for all UAS-centric external committees and groups, including, but not limited to, the Drone Advisory Committee (DAC), the UAS Executive Committee (ExCom), and the Ex Com's Senior Steering Group (SSG). The incumbent may also be designated as support specialist or team member for any UAS-centric Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC), workshops, or stakeholder round-tables that are led or facilitated by the UAS Integration Office. Contributes to the preparation and dissemination of the Office's associated written materials by drafting and editing talking points, fact sheets, briefing materials, memoranda, and other materials for use in conducting, facilitating, and completing committee support assignments. Ensures that information from UAS-centric external stakeholders is communicated in an effective and timely manner throughout the Agency, as appropriate or required.

Collaborates with all levels of management including senior level executives and program sponsors/owners to facilitate internal stakeholder involvement for soliciting input, approval for plans, and measuring progress. Exercises sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy to identify and resolve challenging cross organizational issues, and effectively communicates and gains buy-in for process improvements and shared goals.

Independently plans time. Identifies, plans, and organizes available resources to accomplish projects/programs/activities. Makes optimal use of resources to complete activities within established schedules.

If selected for the FV-J in addition to the above, the duties will include:

To qualify for this position at the I-band you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-12 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience for the FV-I may include but not limited to: Experience developing communication platforms and technical support to facilitate stakeholder engagement strategies, building and maintaining working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

To qualify for this position at the J-band you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-J, FG/GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience for the FV-J may include but not limited to: Experience working with Federal Advisory Committees or other similar executive council(s). Experience managing relationships with external stakeholders to ensure successful external and internal communication efforts and initiatives. Experience developing information and technical content in various mediums to ensure effective communication that solidifies working relationships with stakeholder.
