Summary

This position is located in the Department of Commerce,Office of Export Services, Regulatory Policy Division, Washington, District of Columbia.

The Regulatory Policy Division (RPD) is responsible for developing and drafting new regulations, revising the current Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and coordinating the clearance of all changes to the EAR.

  • Drug Testing: The incumbent of this position is subject to random drug testing. Incumbent must pass urinalysis testing prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Permanent Change of Duty Station (PCS) Expenses will not be paid.


Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.

Minimum Qualifications:GS-09 : You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal government, performing the following duties:
  • Interpreting EAR Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Researching and analyzing business, financial, industrial and related data and information
  • Summarizing business and/or industry information clearly and concisely
  • Writing logical technical specifications and/or policy requirements for review by others
OR two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.

NOTE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
