This vacancy is for a Financial Advisor position in the Decennial Budget Office located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the DBO authority and architect on cost estimation and budget modeling for the 2030 Census Program.
  • Manages all communication and external relationships relating to the decennial census cost estimates.
  • Advises the Decennial Budget Chief and Decennial Senior leadership on cost estimation and budget formulation strategy.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes:

Experience in cost modeling, budget modeling, and/or economic modeling. Leadership or architecture experience in the area of program cost management or estimation, or agency budgeting (including formulation, execution, and/or strategy). Experience communicating technical concepts to the public and senior officials. Experience maintaining strong relations with a network of internal and external stakeholders to the mission of their work area. Experience in providing formal and informal advisory recommendations and analytical insight to high-ranking officials. Experience in strategic and long-term thinking about a complex program or organization. Extensive experience in written and oral communication of complex concepts, both formally and informally.

Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience.

How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Your resume, optional cover letter and supporting documentation will be reviewed to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications for the position.
