Job Summary:

Westat is seeking a Retirement Plan Specialist to work on all aspects of our 401K and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) administration.


Job Responsibilities :

· Enroll staff in retirement programs.

· Review employee contributions to ensure compliance with company and IRS regulations.

· Update and maintain deferred compensation data in accounting system.

· Maintain retirement plan schedules to support audit.

· Conduct meetings both over the phone and in person with active and non-active participants.

· Educate internal staff and clients regarding retirement plan options and issues.

· Review and analyze annual retirement plan testing.

· Coordinate annual notice mailings.

· Interact with record keeper regarding participant and plan level data.

· Verify and approve distributions and loans prior to being processed.

· Work with supporting departments to research and resolve issues as required.

· Perform other duties as assigned.


Basic qualifications:

· A bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Communications with 3 or more years of experience in retirement plan administration.


Preferred qualifications:

· Prior retirement plans administration and Costpoint experience.

The candidate must have strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, especially the ability to listen and explain complex subjects to individuals with different skill sets and backgrounds. Candidates should also be proficient in Microsoft Office software application.
