This position will serve as a key member of the Multifamily Asset Management Surveillance/Physical Risk team with primary responsibilities focusing on evaluation of performance of the securitized multifamily portfolio and identifying, preventing, and developing strategies to manage physical risk in the investment portfolio. The successful candidate will evaluate credit quality and performance of commercial real estate assets to provide greatest recovery to investors and superior service to borrowers, while ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policy. They will provide assistance to underwriters and asset management staff to help understand and respond to physical risk issues in the investment pipeline and the portfolio with a particular focus on our Construction and Green Lending offerings.

Your Work Will Generally Fall in the Following Categories:

Loan/Property Surveillance

  • Perform data analysis on overall portfolio to identify risk including review of servicer watchlist
  • Assess loan-level risk through analysis of operating statements, rent rolls and servicer property inspections
  • Monitor portfolio performance through review of delinquency, maturing loan reports and other data sources
  • Perform property site visits/market tours; Assist in generating reports related to portfolio performance
  • Review and analyze data for Green loan performance to support and improve our Green lending programs.
  • Review and understand construction documents and third- party reports related to the construction and rehab of apartment properties for loans involving forward or rehab commitments.
  • Learn and master corporate systems that support loan tracking and administration.

Internal Reporting
  • Various internal ad hoc reporting

Customer Service
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external parties including servicers and investors
  • Participate in monthly conference calls regarding property/loan status and performance


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Typically has 3-5 years of experience with finance, commercial real estate, and /or apartment operations focus
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Quantitative Analysis or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
  • Strong expertise in MS Excel with ability to create macros, tables, charts, etc.
  • Intermediate expertise with regards to MS Power Point and MS Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
