Summary

As a Supervisory Building Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination of all projects and work assignments within a designated geographical area.

Location of Position: National Capital Region (NCR), Public Building Services (PBS), Office of Facilities Management (OFM), Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

As a Building Manager you will perform the following duties:

Advise tenant agencies on the development of plans, specifications, statements of work and construction drawings for projects proposed. Provides information and advise, including authoritative interpretations of agency policies and procedures relating to construction and buildings maintenance policies. Supervise on-site subordinates, Building Managers, professional and/or technical staff members, office automation administrative/clerical staff members and works with the custodial and mechanical supervisors. Settle disputes between and among tenant agencies relative to proposed or ongoing projects, such as, where one agency's reconfiguration of space plans affects the continuous use of space of another agency. Administer contracts, such as, operation and maintenance of buildings systems, elevator maintenance, custodial operations, trash and debris removal, paper recycle of high grade white paper, newspaper, and cans etc.

  • Complete a financial disclosure report to verify that no conflict, or an appearance of conflict, exists between your financial interest and this position.
  • Serve a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period, if required.
  • Have your identity and work status eligibility verified if you are not a GSA employee. We will use the Department of Homeland Security's e-Verify system for this. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of continued employment.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $99,172 per year.

To qualify, you must have one year of specialized experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12), in the Federal service. OPM Qualifications Standards for 1176 Series .

Specialized experience is experience in researching and preparing policy, procedures, and standards that provide governance for the operation and management of large office buildings including buildings and space delegated to other entities. Such experience must reflect responsibility for coordinating tasks and assignments; improving customer and client satisfaction; preparing service contracts, and/or the development of maintenance programs for buildings; evaluating and monitoring building management operations including energy and environmental management programs; utilizing quantitative and qualitative techniques to gather, analyze and report data to measure programs relating to facility operations.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

    • Your answers to the questions will be used to place you in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified
    • We will verify your answers to the questions in your resume. If your resume doesn't support your answers, we may lower your score, which could place you in a lower category.
    • Within each category, veterans will receive selection priority over non-veterans.
