Summary

This position serves as a Program Manager reporting to the Director of the Strategy and Integration Division within the Office of Communications. Responsible for leading the planning, development and implementation of strategic Communications efforts and managing the integration of Communications functions and operations Agency-wide.

Responsibilities

  • The Program Manager is responsible for leading, developing and implementing strategic Communications initiatives, efforts, activities, policy and guidance.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and execution of all actions associated with the NASA Communications Strategic Implementation Plan.
  • Designs and conducts a wide variety of comprehensive studies and detailed analysis related to long-range planning.
  • Identifies and establishes, convenes and coordinates Agency-wide working groups and Communications Coordinating Council (CCC) sub-committees as needed to implement various elements of the strategy.
  • Coordinates a variety of tasks and activities devoted to the integration of Communications efforts in the across the organization and Centers.
  • Provides overall technical insight into the development and management of policies and procedures across Communications functional areas.

Qualifications

Applicants must also have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.

Specialized experience to qualify at the GS-14 grade level is defined as:

1): Experience in leading and or managing the development and implementation of strategic communications initiatives, plans, efforts and activities at the agency or company level;

2): Designs and administers a wide variety of comprehensive complex studies and detailed analysis in relation to long-range planning; and

3): Experience in leading the development of policy, procedures and guidance in a variety of Communications functional areas.

Additional information

Current Federal employees must meet time in grade and three months after competitive appointment restrictions by the closing date of the announcement.
