Requirements

Figure Model, Department of Art and Art History - Georgetown College

This position of Figure Model is a temporary intermittent position working with the Department of Art and Art History. The Figure Model will be required to pose so drawing and painting classes can experience working from a live model. The primary role of the Figure Model is to pose for set amounts of time, either nude or clothed, in a classroom setting. Increments of time and types of poses are determined by the faculty of the class, and fit to the capabilities of the model.

The Figure Model will interact with faculty and staff of the Art and Art History Department, as well as with the students for whom they model. Models are requested by faculty in advance of the class date, and scheduled by the Department Coordinator, who will key the hours worked into GMS on behalf of the model. The model and/or Professor is responsible for advising the Department Coordinator if they will be late or will miss a shift/assignment.

Qualifications
  • Models should have previous experience modeling, ideally in a classroom setting.
  • No educational requirements are necessary, as long as the model is comfortable posing based on the requirements of the assignment for the assigned class session.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and orally where necessary for scheduling.
  • Preference is given to models who have modeled for universities before, and are therefore more familiar with the scheduling and modeling process.
