Responsibilities

Serves the as the Marine Corps Community Service (MCCS) Semper Fit, High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) program coordinator. The HITT program coordinator provides HITT educational components to active duty and reserve service members attached to Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Forces Command (MARFORCOM).

The HITT program is a structured curriculum that educates, provides a sense of achievement, aids in physical and mental health, and promotes tactical performance as it relates to combat fitness training. The HITT program enhances force readiness by providing education to select Marines in areas consisting of, but not limited to; fitness, injury prevention, nutrition, exercise progression/regression, recovery, speed/agility, power, and biomechanics.

Conducts program evaluations, consolidates data, provides reports, and tracks trends to assess and improve program effectiveness.
Maintains ongoing training and education to stay abreast of the most current subject matter information, technology, and practices in the field of exercise science.

Under the supervision of the Semper Fit Director, act as the the Semper Fit operations manager. Manage day to day operations and employees schedules within all departments of Semper Fit (Fitness, Rec Center, HITT, Outdoor Recreation). Assigns tasks to employees and oversees projects through to completion. Ensures employees yearly mandatory training is up to date. Identifies equipment and facility needs and recommends improvements. Obtains quotes and pricing related to supplies and equipment. Plans and executes special events within Semper Fit and assists as needed in other departments under MCCS.

Responsible for the maintenance and control of MCCS Semper Fit recreation, athletic, and fitness equipment. Inventories property on a regular basis in conjunction with the Desktop Procedures or as directed by the Semper Fit Director. Incumbent will follow cash handling procedures established in conjunction with the RecTrac system when charging equipment user fees. Assists in assembling recreation and athletic equipment.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

May work a fluctuating work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours. May travel to complete work assignments, and conduct or attend conferences and meetings.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

Three years experience in the Health/Fitness related field directing exercise programs under a progressive, comprehensive, and individualized approach. Current strength and conditioning certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Bachelor's Degree in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences, exercise physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, or other related curricula focused on fitness assessment, physiological adaptation to exercise, and exercise program design. Sports Performance Level 1 or Club Level 1 Coach Certification from the United States Weightlifting Association (USAW), certificate of completion or certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association: TSAC, Functional Movement Screen (FMS) are desirable.

Skill to serve as the HITT Program Coordinator to provide professional interactive instruction and education assistance to active duty and reserve service members. Ability to instruct, demonstrate, and perform the same physical training required of Marines. Skill to work effectively with various contacts and military members at various levels of authority. Current Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator certifications (American Heart Association or Red Cross.)

Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 60lbs independently and objects over 60lbs with assistance.
