Living Learning Community Coordinator

The George Mason University Honors College is seeking candidates for the position of Living Learning Community Coordinator.

The Living Learning Community Coordinator, in collaboration with partners across the university and the region, will develop and run programs that foster a vibrant and inclusive community and support student success in the Honors College.

Responsibilities will include:

* Planning and implementing co-curricular programs and initiatives for the Honors College. * Leading the development/implementation of programs for the first-year and upper level Honors College LLCs. * Engaging students who live on-campus in other university housing or living learning communities. * Developing programs that engage Honors College students living off campus. * Working with faculty and staff to promote the sustainability of successful programs across academic years. * Collaborating with the Honors College faculty and staff to support the creative, intellectual, and personal development of Honors College students. * Co-advising Honors College students as a generalist advisor and contributing to student success initiatives. * Collaborating with Housing and Residence Life staff to strengthen the Honors College student community in connection with the broader university. * Collaborating with Honors College faculty and staff to implement and carry out a regular assessment program for the LLC. * This position includes an on-campus apartment (to be reevaluated annually), and as such involves duties such as emergency response, implementing academic support initiatives, increasing faculty engagement in the residence halls, supporting students in crisis, and Title IX responsibilities. * Other duties as assigned

General Duties of Members of the Honors College Staff:

* Working with the staff of the Honors College to develop the quality and reputation of all services and programs under its auspices. * Supporting the recruitment of students to the Honors College (including at Orientation and other recruitment events), in coordination with Admissions and the deans of the Honors College. * Attending Honors College staff and committee meetings and participating in staff development. Required Qualifications:

* Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Experience working with first generation and/or underrepresented students. * Experience working in a higher education setting that includes residence life, program development and evaluation, and a good understanding of current practices that promote highly effective Living Learning Communities on the residential university campus.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree. * Experience in assessment.
