Smith School of Business is seeking a well-qualified Program Manager for Scheduling and Registration to join the Master’s Programs Office.  One of 13 schools and colleges located on the University  of Maryland, College Park campus, the Smith School is a recognized  leader in management research and education for the global economy. The Program Manager of Scheduling and Registration will oversee all aspects of course registration and schedule creation for all Masters Programs including Full Time MBA, Part Time MBA, MSB: Finance, MBS: Accounting, MSB: Supply Chain Management, MSB: Information Systems, and MSB: Marketing Analytics. This position will be responsible for working with key stakeholders to accomplish their goals including academic department chairs, program directors, faculty, students, university  offices and operations. Additionally this position will need to solicit and incorporate feedback and benchmarking into its decision making. Additionally this position will manage course and curriculum creations and revisions and oversee all enrollment management.

 

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of progressive experience required.  Experience managing  a complex program schedule in an academic environment; experience working with course scheduling and/or project planning.

 

Experience balancing the needs of a large customer base in a time-intense work environment. Familiarity with University of Maryland scheduling systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with the University’s Student Information System; advanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to weigh the needs of many constituents and prioritize accordingly.

 

Extreme attention to detail and a resourceful approach to problem solving; high regard for customer orientation and interpersonal

 

sensitivity; excellent time management skills and the ability to work alone or as the member  of a team.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Mature judgment, proven ability to integrate ideas and concepts, proven ability to make effective use of time, plan ahead, and coordinate multiple projects.  Highly developed organizational and computer skills, strict attention to details; friendly, flexible, service-oriented manner; proven ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, corporate clients, executives and staff. Proven ability to respond positively to extreme pressures of time and workload; proven ability in oral and written communications; ability to work in a highly independent manner at times across functions within the school.  Ability and willingness to work extended hours as required.

 

Preferences: Masters preferred with 3-5 years of experience preferred.

 

The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.  The University also offers a comprehensive  benefits package, including 22 Days Annual Leave; 15 Days Sick Leave; 3 Days Personal Leave; 15 Paid Holidays; Tuition Remission; Health, Dental, Vision and Prescription coverage.
