Responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst, you will:

- Work with asset liability modeling (ALM) analysts, financial modelers, NCUA's Office of Chief Information Office (OCIO) and third-party technology vendors to conduct the annual NCUA supervisory stress testing using an asset liability-modeling tool to support ONES' risk-focused data-driven supervision program.
- Work with internal models and tools and use them to perform and support regular and ad-hoc risk assessments and income forecasting on selected ONES credit unions to assist management in better understanding material risk factors including credit risk, market risk and liquidity risk, emerging risk trends, profitability, and business strategies.
- Utilize excel, business intelligence, programming, and other analytic tools to develop and automate regular or ad-hoc reports that present stress testing results, projected financial statements, risk analytics and surveillance, and financial performance.
- Work with ALM analysts to identify opportunities to enhance the asset liability modeling, and analytical approaches and processes in stress testing, risk assessment and income forecast. Act as back-up to set up model runs in ALM tool.
- Assist ONES's analytic team in documenting and updating operational standards and production procedures to establish and support the governance of ONES' analytical processes.
-Develop educational programs and instruct educational classes on risk analytics and financial analysis topics for agency staff and other internal and external groups.

Qualifications

To qualify at the grade CU-14 applicants must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-13 level in federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) which included experience applying a quantitative approach and using analytical tools to conduct financial and risk analysis on financial products, programs or institutions for a financial service company or financial regulator.

Additional information

Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position.

SALARY: Pay will be set using NCUA's Compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's Local Pay Rate (LPR) which includes a locality rate of 42.87% for the Alexandria, Virginia geographical area.
