Primary role of a Cashier includes scanning merchandise, applying discounts, processing payments, and handling returns. Cashiers also take responsibility for being the first and last impression for customers and must provide a pleasant greeting, answering questions about merchandise, store policies, ongoing promotions, and thanking each customer as they leave.
