This Controller position with Robert Half Management Resources will give you a fantastic opportunity to become part of our client's team. The Controller position is located in Baltimore, Maryland and is on a long-term temporary basis. We're looking for a Controller who can manage the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verify and hold the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively. Major responsibilities - Secure an understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners - Obtain a thorough understanding of essential financial results and movements across programs, then summarize and discuss them with key business partners - Collaborate with various business partners for various program controllership and FP A activities such as ensuring accrual models are accurate and accounting methods are appropriate, as well as true-up activities and answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers - Support SOX controls through the collation of evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs - Collaborate with the Treasury to provide timely cash flow forecasts - Evaluate and observe controls to ensure they are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance - Manage all processes and tools for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting accountable programs - Continuous review of actual spend against budget and lead necessary actions needed for any expected shortfalls- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field - CPA and/or CMA preferred - Experience with financial statement preparation - Microsoft Excel experience - Proficiency in financial auditing - Well-founded grasp of internal control review - Financial reporting experience - Bank reconciliations experience preferred - Proven knowledge of financial reconciliation - Proven communication and negotiation skills, ability to establish trusted advisor/consultant relationships, and capability to influence Executives and Business Decision Makers - Demonstrated ability to manage, lead change, and build process improvements - Comprehension of ERP system offerings is preferred - Demonstrated ability to provide leadership across finance team by engaging with different groups around the world via virtual communication - Prior experience in office and accounting computer systems - 5+ years professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance - Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, strong analytical and communication skills as wellOur industry-leading alliances and broad client network provide you greater access to a variety of unique interim and long-term project opportunities that can keep you continuously engaged.
