St. Joseph Catholic Church, located in Odenton, MD is seeking an energetic and passionate individual to assist the Director of Student and Young Adult Ministries as Youth and Young Adult Ministry Leader. This ministry leader will be responsible for providing quality youth ministry programs for middle school and high school students, as well as exploring and communicating opportunities for Young Adults for socials, ongoing formation, and spiritual growth. This is a part-time position (10-15 hours per week). St. Joseph Odenton is a welcoming, vibrant parish of approximately 900 households. As missionary disciples, we strive to live out our four "B's" -- to Build a community to Belong, Believe, and Bear Witness to God's love, hope and mercy. Confirmed, practicing Roman Catholic eligible to participate in the sacramental life of the ChurchPassion for the evangelization of young people to experience the love of Jesus Christ and realize a connection to the ChurchCollege Degree and experience in youth ministry or related field preferredPossess a solid understanding of the Catholic faithProven leadership ability and organizational skillsExcellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.) as well as proficiency in the use of social mediaExemplary communication skills, particularly in relating to youth and their families, as well as public speaking abilityBasic working knowledge of audio-visual system functionsDesire and capability of developing and supporting teams, and leading out of teamsDesire for reaching out to the disengaged and non-evangelized as well as the general parish populationHas flexibility with one's work schedule, and available to work evenings and weekendsSuccessfully passes a criminal background check as well as completes VIRTUS training for the protection of children and vulnerable adultsSupports the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and is committed to the mission of St. Joseph, with a primary emphasis on developing missionary disciplesLives a life in conformity with Catholic teaching and embraces the role of serving as a public minister of the Church and representative of the parish
