This office is responsible for sustaining and modernizing the fiber optic cable technology throughout the country and integrating it with the existing air traffic control infrastructure. Responsibilities Development of site implementation plans, integrating needs of all stakeholders for Fiber Optic Transmission System (FOTS) deployment at airports throughout the country Participation in vendor design reviews and technical interchange meetings Site outreach at air traffic control facilities and airports Contractor statement of work and task order development Oversight and conduct of site surveys, site preparation, installation, and checkout for FOTS equipment Test and evaluation support, including review of test plans and reports and witness of vendor testing Operations and maintenance planning and support for deployed FOTS Maintaining configuration management of deployed FOTS POSITION REQUIREMENTS BS Engineering (Civil or other) and 3 to 5 years experience Strong written oral communications skills Familiarity with system implementation process and principles Based in Washington, DC Familiarity with FAA and aviation is a plus but not necessary.
