Systems Engineer Location: Chantilly, VAJob Type: Full-Time/RegularOur client is a leader in assured aerospace communication solutions and services. This company is well known and highly respected in the Defense and Space community. We are in search of a Systems Engineer to join our elite force in the DoD space in Chantilly, VA.Our client is a leading supplier of GSP systems (RF, DSP, and digital domains) for space satellite operations, as well as non-space applications. Our operations include factory test, launch, business operations, and assured mission capabilities. We are currently looking for a Systems Firmware Engineer, for our Chantilly, VA location. US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance is required.General Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical input and direction to a multi-disciplined team of engineers developing new communications products and new capabilities for existing products. They are expected to be self-starters and will often have ownership of the technical aspects of project performance.Job Responsibilities:Develop, integrate, and test real time firmware applications to support various products.Design and develop firmware/software in support of new product development and custom deliveries.Work directly with customers and engineers to perform requirements analysis/design trade-offs and develop solutions in accordance with system/product architectures.Work with program management to scope and estimate new efforts as needed.Use VHDL to implement real-time communications processing for tactical and network communications products.Drive a culture of high-quality firmware by continuously honing the craft of firmware development while following industry best practices such as code review, and automated testing.Collaborate with systems architects to design software solutions and guide the activity of entry-level developers.Work with engineers to perform design tradeoffs and develop solutions in accordance with product architecturesExperience and Skills:Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture.Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.Act as a Project/Principle Engineer, leading highly technical engineering teams on challenging projects and managing project technical baselines (hardware, firmware, software).Interface directly with customers to communicate and coordinate the technical aspects of a project.Generate high quality technical documentation for customers and other project stakeholders.Support proposal efforts.Preferred Knowledge:BS or MS (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering (or related field)5+ years' experience in the key areas of RF, Digital Signal Processing, Radio DevelopmentExcellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills; as well as mentoring and facilitation skills in dealing with management and technical staff.Strong judgment and decision-making abilities, able to drive efforts to closure; able to effectively manage/coordinate multiple tasks and priorities.Experience in execution of a disciplined engineering processes, scope management, people development and risk and opportunity management.Experience in proposal development, particularly Technical Volume content.Excellent written and oral communications skills.U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance is required.Contact for details!#cjpost
