JOB SUMMARY: The Bilingual (English-Spanish languages) Dentist provides preventive and therapeutic services; reviews patient's medical and dental history; reviews chief complaints; assesses the dental and periodontal status (including extra-oral and intra-oral screening examinations, and oral cancer screening); and performs TMD evaluations. The position requires that all services are discussed with the patient before they are performed. Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform and maintain a high level of clinical treatment care for patients through dental procedures, including but not limited to: a. Restorations b. Routine extractions c. Preventive dental treatments d. Root canals e. Prosthetic care f. Periodontal care * Prescribe medication, as required. * Maintain patient records via electronic medical records. * Establish recall treatment program to monitor oral health practices. * Maintain the integrity of care undertaken by assistants and hygienists through supervision and coordination as specified by the Board of Dentistry. Requirements EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: * A degree from an accredited US College of Dentistry (DMD or DDS) or foreign dental school with a current dental license in MD or DC. * Current malpractice coverage policy, and DEA certification. * 2 years of experience working as a dentist. * One (1) year clinical supervisory experience. * Experience in working with the Latino community preferred.
