FosterThomas, Inc. is a leading HR Consulting and Talent Acquisition Firm. We are currently conducting the search for a Project DirectorSenior Project Manager for our client based in Rockville, MD. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide oversight, management and leadership for the following Assess end-user needs develop planning sketches and test-fit options consistent with federal space and furniture standards prepare Design Intent Drawings, FFE (furnishings, fixtures and equipment) specifications, cost estimates, scopes of work, project schedules provide implementation oversight. Conducting site surveysfield verifications for compliance with approved CDs and shop drawings, advise on acceptance of space, develop punch lists, monitor to completion. Managing documents and project records including base buildingFFE finish binders, project binders, summary reports, and project metrics consistent with OWS records management. Attend the NIAID provided OWS S Drive file structure, CAD and NIAID Design Standards (Demountable partitions and FF+E) orientation. Mentor and assist in the professional development of junior planning staff to increase technical, analytical, communications and presentation skills. Provide Planning and Project Management support including, but not limited to Coordination of existing base building conditions (MEPTED) with interior design, FFE elements (demountable walls, systems and freestanding furniture) and supporting technology requirements. Prepare Independent Government Estimates (IGE s) for budget planning review price proposals and related contractors bids, as requested. Provide quality assurance of construction documents, shopinstallation drawings, bills of materials and other documents for compliance with DID s. Monitor furniture procurements and lead times, re-use inventory products and associated logistics, interior build-out and installation schedules to ensure compliance with project schedule and budget track action items. Inform and communicate with the OWS Federal point-of-contact assigned to each task. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Facilities, Accounting, or a related field required. Qualified candidates must be a US citizen and be eligible to obtain a clearance. Background check required. Minimum 10 years directly relevant experience in facilities maintenance, project developmentmanagement and cost estimating (private or public sector) required. Demonstrated understanding of basic principles of space planning AutoCAD proficiency required LEED accreditation an asset NCIDQ accreditation an asset Must understand the fundamentals of current construction contract law and have the ability to interpret construction contract drawings and specifications and FARGSAR clauses. Must understand construction management procedures and have experience using different project scheduling software (eg Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects) Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Government experience preferred.
