NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER TEMP TO PERM, SALARY NEGOTIABLE BETHESDA, MD SOME TELECOMMUTE RESUME TO CRISS BRIENT AT CBRIENTALTAITS.COM Firewall administrator to assist in day-to-day operational security duties on a network security team handling Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks firewalls. Serves as a subject matter expert in systems and network security. Interprets security scan results, identify critical vulnerabilities, reduce false-positives, and either performs or recommends corrective actions to remediate vulnerable systems and applications. Installs, implements, and maintains network firewalls that prevent unauthorized access to internal networks. Reviews network firewall rule exception requests to ensure the request meets policy and perimeter protection standard. Validates security scans for the requested public-facing applications to ensure there are no open vulnerabilities requiring mitigation. Implements or adjusts pertinent network firewall rules. Conducts security controls assessment for new and existing systems, networks, and Web applications. Creates and maintains as-built system documentation, architecture diagrams, and online collaborative documentation such as Wiki. Determines security modes of operation and recommends new or revised security measures and countermeasures for current security challenges. Implements and maintains Web security gateways that protect the workstations used by employees. Continuously assesses the effectiveness of security controls on installed systems based on analysis of reported security violationsbreaches and implements modifications to enhance effectiveness. Degree preferred 8+ years of experience CISSP or similar certification required Experience working with Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks networking and security solutions including routers, switches, and firewalls. Experience using common networking tools to aid in troubleshooting, including nmap, Wireshark, tcpdump, etc. Basic understanding of proxy and URL filtering services for end users. Basic understanding of SIEM operation.
