DataBank s managed data center services are built around its world-class facilities, multi-homed Internet access hub, and multi-terabyte storage area network. We provide a redundant managed colocation environment for companies wishing to outsource their entire computer room infrastructure. This environment consists of space, power and network transport services. DataBank is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to help build and maintain its next generation Cloud, Storage, and Security offering. The engineer should be comfortable working on multiple routing, switching, load balancing, and security platforms. This position will be highly dynamic and responsibilities range from all aspects of network design, implementation, operation and support. The role will require advanced knowledge of various network technologies Duties An expert level knowledge of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCPIP networking Expert level knowledge of the following network routing protocols - BGP, OSPF, VXLANEVPN A strong VMWare background Advanced knowledge of Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet Firewalls Advanced knowledge of F5 and A10 Load Balancers Advanced level knowledge of automation frameworks such a Ansible and Puppet Python development experience An advanced level of experience implementing and administrating common TCPIP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc. Strong expertise at network documentation, IPAM, Visio Knowledge of common network monitoring utilities Participation in weekly on-call rotation Ability to travel domestically as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in Information Systems 4+ years in network operations or engineer role at a ISP or network services provider Industry certifications preferred but not required. 5+ years professional experience working in large scale networking environments. 5+ years professional experience working in environments with complex layer 2 switching. Experience with internet routing protocols and concepts TCPIP, BGP, MPLS, OSPF. Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos. Experience working with WindowsLinuxUnixVMWare. Experience in automation via Bashshell scripting and PerlPython programming. Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills specifically, network performance analysis. Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, and work toward resolution.
