OverviewEvoke Research and Consulting is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).ResponsibilitiesDatabase performance monitoring and tuning: Closely monitor performance, identify problems and implement solutions; ensure the database is running at optimum speed and efficiency.Provides application support: Resolve problems and answer questions related to the RDMS and platform environment; contact vendor support when necessary; facilitate application development and client problem resolution with optimum speed and efficiency.Maintain database backup/recovery environment: Respond quickly to refresh data; verify implementation of correct backup strategy; develop recovery procedures; support recovery from loss of data caused by user or system.Install and upgrade database and related products: Keep databases at current release and maintenance levels; install supporting products; provide current, stable production and development environments.Reorganize database structures: use tools to reorganize or defragment database table spaces, tables, and indexes; provide efficient database environment to maximize productivity and improve performance.Provide assistance in database design as needed: Research and recommend optimal design criteria; publish standards and work with development staff; standardize environment and improve efficiency.Capacity planning and reporting: Monitor file system space, database allocation, etc.; verify efficient use of disk storage; reclaim dead space; optimize space allocation and avoid out-of-space conditions.Ensure standardization of systems and methods: support techniques, and adherence to formal processes, change control, best practices and total quality practices in all activities.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable.Must have the following skills/experience: Oracle 12gR2, Oracle Exadata, RAC Installation as well as adding nodes, Red hat Linux, SQL Server.7-10 years of recent experience as an Oracle DBA.A qualified candidate must have current, relevant experience with 12c (release 2). A highly qualified candidate will also have experience with 18c.To be effective in this role, the Database Administrator must remain current with state-of-the-art database technologies and data management practices.Experience with highly used, very large data warehouse environments.Experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA is desirable.Demonstrated experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in complex environments.Ability to monitor and tune databases to meet application needs.Experience in installing, patching and upgrading Oracle 11gR3 database environments.Experience in designing, modeling, developing, and supporting large Data Warehouse databases.Experience in logical and physical database design.Experience in implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).Strong diagnostic and problem solving ability.Strong customer focus and management of client expectations;Excellent oral and written communication skills.Experience with cross-platform networking in a TCP/IP environment.Full knowledge of SQL, triggers and PL/SQL, including programming and ways to optimize SQL code.Experience with UNIX shell scripting.Enthusiastic, hardworking, independent, and self-motivated.Security ClearanceThis position requires a Public TrustCertification RequiredThis position requires Security + within six months of on boarding.Evoke is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, citizenship status, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion, creed, physical or mental disability, marital status, veteran status, political affiliation, or any additional factors that are protected by lawAt Evoke Research and Consulting, you are not just hired for a position, you are hired for a career.
