Summary

The Assistant Director will lead and manage the USTP's budget formulation and execution, human resources management, procurement, facilities management, personnel and physical security, and other administrative planning and organizational management functions that enable the USTP to carry out its mission goals.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Directing and overseeing subordinate organizational units including: Procurement, Facilities and Security, and Budget.
  • Formulating program goals dealing with the development and operation of the Office of Administration. Consulting with subordinate branch chiefs to ensure administrative services, resources, and funding meet the goals, mission, and function of the Department of Justice.
  • Providing advice, counsel, and recommendations to the Deputy Director and other USTP senior officials regarding all aspects of administrative management.
  • Managing budget formulation and execution functions, and serving as an advocate for resource needs with senior officials of the Department of Justice, the Office of Management and Budget, the Congress, and others.
  • Consulting with managers and stakeholders on the use of budget and human capital to achieve objectives, ensures all implications are identified, weighed, and considered, and determining appropriate strategies for achieving objectives or overcoming barriers to success.
  • Performing the full range of federal supervisory functions. Communicating employee expectations through the formal performance management system. Recruiting, hiring, retaining, training, and planning for a highly qualified workforce. Applying all Equal Employment Opportunity policies and laws to personnel management activities. Qualifications

In order to qualify for the Assistant Director for Office of Administration position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: 1) Performing and managing, or directing, at least four of the six administrative oversight functions: budget, procurement, acquisitions, facilities management, personnel and physical security, and/or human resources; 2) Overseeing team projects aimed at improving work processes and administrative services; and; 3) Developing mission driven business goals to achieve organizational objectives.

Conditions of Employment: Only U.S. Citizens or Nationals are eligible for employment with the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
