Responsibilities: The Associate Director of Conference & Event Operations is a member of the Conference & Event Services (CES) team within the Office of Auxiliary Services. The Associate Director works closely with the CES team to ensure all administrative, conference & event operations, and facility dimensions of conference planning and hosting during summer activities and year-round. The Associate Director will supervise the transfer of conference and event contracts/agreements to the implementation, billing, and evaluation phases of event and client management. The Associate Director will assist the CES Director with budget oversight, including invoice creation, collection, and payments to campus departments. This position works under the direct supervision of the Director of Conference & Event Services, but has decision-making authority on daily operations. The position requires some nontraditional hours during peak operations periods. Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred in Business Administration and/or Finance or equivalent in education, training and/or experience and four years of experience in event planning, conferences/event operations, finance/billing, or higher education administration required. Contract administration, risk management, experience with sports complex events, summer camps and other large events. Computer experience, particularly in database and spreadsheet applications, required. Must be able to prioritize, balance, and complete multiple tasks with direct but minimal supervision. Excellent customer service skills required. Requires some non-traditional hours during peak operational periods. Hiring offers for this position are contingent on the successful completion of a background check.
Condition of Employment: This position will require working other than normal working hours.
SALARY: $73,000 - $78,000 RANGE: III
