The Chapter Development Manager serves as the hands on professional assisting with overall chapter development, component relations strategies, and possesses a thorough understanding of the delicate nature of components and their national office. Other responsibilities include performing miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned by the Vice President of Membership and Chapter Development.Primary Responsibilities:Under the direction of the Vice President of Membership and Chapter Development, the Chapter Development Manager will support chapters and members in ways that are contemporary, dynamic, creative and measurable in impact.Manage chapter relations for the IEC, providing guidance and assistance to leaders in 50 chapters nationwide, including support for membership recruitment and retention, program development, event planning, and board governance and elections, training, prospecting, developing partnerships, website management, and other duties as assigned.Support and coordinate all chapter development activities such as research and prospecting, phone call campaigns, IEC awareness events, new chapter board meetings, new chapter training.Provide guidance and technical assistance in the formation of new chapters, supporting founders as they adopt bylaws, operating procedures, recruit and provide orientation to other leaders, launch programming, and assist with all state and federal applications and regulations.Support and provide resources to chapter leaders for the purpose of community outreach and grassroots advocacy by building relationships with partner institutions, preparing presentation materials, and identifying sponsors.Research and support grants and other funding opportunities for IEC chapters to support chapter development including the proposal process, selection of awards, oversight of programmatic requirements, and reporting to grant providers.Offer recommendations and implement improvements to this system to promote innovation and effective programming while lessening administrative burdens; and will provide impact analyses.In coordination with the Vice President of Membership and Chapter Development, assist chapters with creating and updating websites, promoting, celebrating activities on social media and other outlets.Conduct two chapter needs assessments per year and integrate feedback into department goals, efforts, and programming to ensure a healthy supported IEC chapter network.Other duties as required.MembershipUnder the direction of Vice President of Membership and Chapter Development, set goals and agree upon strategy for driving growth within the chapter network memberships per year.Coordinate with partner institutions, such as the Department of Education, Office of Apprenticeship, and other educational institutions to better understand barriers to IEC chapters and solutions needed for chapter success.In coordination with the Vice President of Membership and Chapter Development, promote membership by developing recruitment materials and marketing to prospects.Under the direction of the Vice President of Membership and Chapter Development, support, manage and evaluate efforts at piloting new membership and chapter programs such as Emerging Leaders Program, Membership Campaigns, Mentor-ship Program, and New Chapter Orientation Program.Other duties as required.RequiredBachelor's degree required. A minimum of 7 years of professional experience with evidence of implementing strategy and cross-institutional coordination that drives membership growth. Experience with membership/component relations preferred.Strong project management skills with ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, effectively prioritize, and coordinate with multiple external suppliers to keep projects on schedule.A minimum of 3 years of experience working with multiple stakeholders in a complex and fast-moving environment, preferably in membership-related positions serving multiple locations.Ability to navigate conflicting needs and difficult situations involving multiple stakeholders, with the patience, maturity, and negotiating skills to resolve problems.Ability to self-manage, prioritize, get things done, and drive results.Excellent technical and database skills with experience using web and social media tools, a self-starter who enjoys learning independently and adept at learning new software and technology tools.Strong internal and external communication skills, proficient in communicating with staff, board members, association members, marketing suppliers, media, and partners.Highly detail-oriented with a willingness to work to exacting standards for accuracy and data integrity/protection.Innovative, creative, entrepreneurial mindset and passion for learning.Collaborative team player and enjoys working as part of team to accomplish the mission.Positive, enthusiastic, and passionate.Travel: 30%
