Principal/Senior Principal Manufacturing Automation Engineer Requisition ID : 19017714 Location : United States-Maryland-Baltimore US Citizenship Required for this Position: Yes Relocation Assistance: Relocation assistance may be available Clearance Type: None Shift : 1st Shift Travel : Yes, 10 % of the Time Description Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Operations Engineering organization is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to identify, specify, design, implement and maintain industrial automation solutions for a wide range of manufacturing applications. Areas of focus include microelectronics, antenna assembly, test and surface mount technology. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: *Develop statements of work for both internal and external suppliers of automation solutions by coordinating across internal organizations to clearly identify/distill requirements *Execute resulting capital projects *Develop and implement less complex automation solutions as they arise This req may be filled as a Principal Manufacturing Engineer or a Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer based on the qualifications below. MANUMS Qualifications Basic Qualifications for a Principal: *Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM area plus 5 years of relevant professional experience (3 years with an MS degree) *Experience implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment *Must have fluency in MS Office software applications *3D Solid Modeling experience using a CAD software *Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance (US citizenship is a prerequisite). Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal: *Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM area plus 9 years of relevant professional experience (7 years with an MS degree) *Experience implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment *Must have fluency in MS Office software applications *3D Solid Modeling experience using a CAD software *Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance (US citizenship is a prerequisite). Preferred Qualifications: *Ability to program 6 axis robot (Fanuc preferred) *Knowledge of PLC programming *Design for Automation experience *Virtual commissioning experience Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
