In D&B's Predictive Analytics / Government Solutions group we are creating visionary solutions to complex government issues, often before the government can even see their own problems. We're taking big data to big government to create efficiency in agencies large and small. Currently, the Predictive Analytics Group is hiring a Data Science Director supporting D&B's Government Solutions Business in the Washington DC area. Brief Description:. The Data Science Director will lead a team of data scientists to build enterprise-ready analytics to accomplish the most complex government missions. Power government analytics with the highest quality data to maximize the predictiveness so that govt agency can scale the actionable insights to field offices. The Data Science Director will customized solutions to agency-specific mission by bringing in industry best practices to the government function.. Key Responsibilities:. Lead a tiger team of data scientists to build enterprise-ready analytics to accomplish the most complex government missions.. Engage clients with the D&B colleagues to identify their business needs and develop, implement, and manage solutions.. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple assignments, many of which with challenging timelines. Participate in all aspects of a modeling engagement, including design, development, validation, calibration, documentation, approval, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. Research complex business issues and recommend solutions, including model inputs and end products. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on predictive models within the Advanced Analytic Services team and with business users; consult with the business, as appropriate, on predictive modeling solutions. Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively in a team environment. Encourage an open and innovative environment for team members to bring new ideas and see through production. Required Skills:. Strong programming skills with the ability to conduct research utilizing Python, R or SAS to manipulate data and conduct statistical analysis. Strong SQL skills and experience.. Master's or PhD degree with a concentration in a quantitative discipline such as (Math/Stat, Economics, Computer Science, Finance, Operations Research, etc.) with 3-5 years of applicable experience. Able to understand & translate a business problem into an analytics solution. Strong project management skills and knowledge of MS office tools. Creative and inquisitive in nature, flexibility to learn and apply new methodologies. Ability to handle pressure, stressful conditions, and conflict resolution. Ability to travel 20-30%.
