POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Senior Director of Learning and Activation, the Director of Data Analytics will provide data management, analytics and performance management functions for the StriveTogether programs team. The primary purpose of the position is to support acceleration of equitable results in the StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network by supporting data and information needs of StriveTogether team and Network members. The Director will hold the overall responsibility for the Network and internal programs team data. She/he will be responsible for translating data into actionable information for internal and external stakeholders and support continuous quality improvement and learning using data. This position offers a unique blend of partnering with programs staff, working in depth with complex data sets, matching and querying data, conducting high-level analysis and preparing outcomes and other results for multiple audiences. Successful candidates will be able to take complex data related to educational outcomes, providing vision, direction and support of data analytics and communication that lead to the transformation of current systems across the country. RESPONSIBILITIES Data Management and Analysis Lead coordination of data collection and management, including data compilation from internal and external sources, and manage data quality assurance processes. Negotiate data-sharing agreements as needed manage relationships with Network members and partners, and ensure responsible data stewardship. Oversee analysis and interpretation of both quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate statistical methods and data manipulation tools Data-Supported Learning Translate Network and internal data for use in planning, monitoring and continuous improvement. Foster dynamic engagement between data analysis and program areas to support data- and evidence-driven programs and services. Support data storytelling efforts by translating data into meaningful communication and presentation tools (dashboards, presentations, reports, etc.) for a variety of audiences including StriveTogether leadership, the StriveTogether board and Network members. Prepare reports/resources and provide trainings and presentations for quality improvement initiatives. Convene and collaborate with data managers across Network communities to capture learning and provide support. Performance Management Support performance measurement and evaluation activities of the programs team, including the development and implementation of program evaluations, performance indicator reports, dashboards and other projects. Oversee StriveTogether's external evaluation process. Develop performance monitoring reports, dashboards, presentations and other visual representations of data. Prepare and present reports and briefings that summarize results and interpretations of findings for a range of audiences including policy makers, system administrators, service providers, clients, advocates and/or community representatives. REQUIREMENTS A master's degree in social sciences, public policy or related field with course work in performance measurement, research methods and statistics and/or equivalent education and experience. At least five years of experience or graduate education in conducting data-focused social and behavioral human services program performance measurement. Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience communicating complex topics and concepts to audiences with a range of familiarity with the topics. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to be self-directed and independent, with a track record of taking initiative in data development and analysis and performing synthesis under deadlines. Ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously, with experience organizing and prioritizing work quickly in response to changing needs. Experience in successfully managing complex and politically-sensitive projects in detail and meeting deadlines. Commitment to learning and applying Results Count (TM) framework. Position is based in Cincinnati or Chicago Willingness to travel 25% of the time Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau a plus.
