Summary

This position is located in the Office of the Chair, U. S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The incumbent will serve as a confidential assistant in direct support of the Chair's activities and responsibilities for managing, executing and directing EEOC events and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps informed of the Chair's activities, commitments and assignments through proper notation and editing of the Chair's calendar.
  • Make arrangements for conferences/meetings and ensures Chair's travel arrangements are processed and verified in the Travel System.
  • Ensures that all official social obligations are met, arranges luncheons, issues invitations, and ensures that proper seating arrangements or other details are covered.
  • Collects, assembles, and prepare s reports, information, and other data for Chair's use in delivering speeches, attending conferences and appearing before Congressional committees etc.
  • Assists in planning and coordinating EEO observance activities and other special projects and events.
  • Composes a variety of materials such as correspondence, speeches, articles, and reports which are frequently of a confidential nature and maintains an archive of the Chair's speeches and writings.

Qualifications

For the GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level. This specialized experience is defined as experience which has equipped you with the ability to code and process timecards, prepare travel arrangements, independently coordinate and manage special events and projects, manage multiples assignments, conduct research and gather information from a variety of sources and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of individuals
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degre e or LL.M., if related.

This is a Term Appointment Not To Exceed (NTE) 3 years. This position will terminate at the end of the term appointment and will not be converted to a permanent position. The agency has the right to terminate employment at any time during the NTE appointment period.

Relocation expenses will not be paid.
