Job Announcement

A challenging and exciting new opportunity is available to join the Informatics Department of the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board. Implements and maintains the Information Security Program to include coordinating the development and maintenance of agency-specific information security policies, standards, and procedures. Provides information security advice and recommendations to users and management within their agency. Installs, operates, monitors, maintains, and manages certain security controls within their department such as data classification and access, establishment of agency-specific procedures for access control administration, security log reviews, and password resets. Develops plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs. Confers with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes. Prepares, manages, enters, monitors/tracks, collects, and analyzes data, reports, and studies with responsibility of related quality control, to support assigned areas. Assists in updating and maintaining computer/asset inventory for CSB. Utilizes electronic health record reports as well as other report writers to provide month-end/year-end performance management reports for program managers, directors and other staff as required. Creates and manages spreadsheets and databases and ensures security of the information. Imports data into system to support assigned program areas. Meets and maintains professional standards and federal, state, county, and CSB statutes, regulations, policies and procedures. Completes paperwork and projects and responds to help desk tickets in a timely fashion. Work as a liaison between CSB and Department of Information Technology (DIT) to establish and maintain the security and access control policy. Lead system and data security audit for CSB. Develops and provide presentations at various sites throughout the county. Assertive style of written and oral communication skill is required to maintain security control.

Illustrative Duties

Provides information/cyber security protection related support functions such as administration of identity management and access control functions for IT cyber systems and the provision of end-point protection county-wide.
Assists in the conduct of threat analysis for information and communications; systems.; Assists in identifying risks and vulnerabilities to current and planned information
systems and technologies;
Assists in identifying and evaluating the effectiveness of mitigation processes designed to minimize system vulnerabilities;
Prepares findings following approved communications protocols written and oral formats;
Assists in preparing and documenting information/cyber security plans, policies, and procedures;
Provides assistance to Information Security Office, IT Analysts and end-users as needed.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Some knowledge of information technology, functions, and concepts;
Some knowledge of information/cyber concepts, capabilities, and functions;
Ability to identify and report potential systems threats, vulnerabilities, and risks;
Ability to apply approved mitigation processes;
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions;
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality of such data and
information;
Ability to understand and explain technical terms and concepts in a non-technical manner.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in a computer or information science discipline, IT/cyber security, network or IT systems administration, engineering; or a bachelor's degree in a business or related field that has been supplemented by at least 12 credit hours of intermediate computer science coursework.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
None.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of EHR system and/or knowledge of CSB.
  • Working knowledge of information and data security.
  • Experience in providing system and network access to users.
  • Detailed, organized, and process driven candidate with experience in working with high volume of access request.
  • Experience in creating and analyzing reports related to quality control.
  • Strong experience in multitasking and projects/task organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to use keyboard driven equipment, travel various sites, and carry equipment. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
