Job Announcement

The selected candidate in this non-merit, temporary part-time position may work a maximum of 1,300 hours in a calendar year. This position is not eligible to receive benefits.

Works primarily with Spanish-speaking individuals affected by domestic or sexual violence who participate in group treatment through this program. Must be proficient in Spanish and culturally adept. Under direct supervision of social work supervisor and in collaboration with other group co-facilitators, performs safety and clinical evaluations and provides direct clinical services that may include: crisis care intervention for stabilization, group psychotherapy, adaptive behavior changes, risk assessment and management, prevention, psychoeducation, and case management. Maintains active utilization of groups by survivors, including groups offered in Spanish, with duties including recruitment of participants, intake screening and assessment, group co-facilitation, case management for group participants, and group logistical planning. May have use for specialized knowledge in psychotherapy group dynamics, the psychobiology of trauma, substance use and abuse, family dynamics, art and play therapy, and others. Makes appropriate referrals for clients requiring more individualized or longer-term services or services not offered through this program. Provides case consultation and adjunctive services for clients receiving longer-term treatment from other providers. Regularly initiates outreach activities to survivors of domestic and sexual violence and allied community partners who potentially serve them, focused particularly on Spanish-speaking populations and emphasizing recruitment for group services. Participates in required team/agency/committee meetings, case staffing, special projects, agency-sponsored events, and resource fairs. Provides community and professional trainings, as requested. Documents all client and collaborative work per professional and ethical standards in a timely manner. As part of the Office for Women & Domestic and Sexual Violence Services, works as a member of this team to provide services and support in line with program's mission.

Note: Rate of pay will be $29.47/per hour.

Employment Standards

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree, plus three years of professional social work experience. A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
None.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • New county employees must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check, a check of the Child Protective Services Registry, and a driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in a field related to counseling or Master's in social work.
  • Clinical licensure.
  • Specialized training and experience in treating trauma.
  • Experience leading psychotherapy group.
