Student Academic Resource Team (SART) Teacher

We are in search of an education professional to serve as the Student Academic Resource Team (SART) Teacher. Under the supervision of the Vice Principal, the SART Teacher will ensure the provision of needed material development that aligns to the differentiated curriculum and the needs of individual learners. As a member of SART, the incumbent will assist with providing individualized supports to meet the needs of all students with different needs. The SART Teacher will co-teaches with faculty to provide support and ensure the uptake of suggested strategies for individual learners.

Responsibilities:

  •  In collaboration with the SART Specialist, assist in providing professional development training for faculty with regards to material support

  • Observes, coaches and co-teaches with faculty to demonstrate or model strategies and techniques that support the needs of their students in one-on-one and in small group sessions

  • Supports the tutorial program with individualized goal implementation, monitoring of progress and creation of materials to support academic progress

  • Participates on the SART response once a student is referred for assistance

 Provides input on the differentiation and implementation of the curriculum to individualized instruction for all students

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Master’s Degree in Special Education preferred) with a minimum of five-seven years of experience working with students with disabilities and diverse needs and at least three years of experience working with English Language Learner students in instructional settings or the appropriate combination of education and experience

  • Experience working in Adult Education preferred

  • Experience in or strong knowledge of the cultural differences that impact learning in a

    multi-cultural environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners

  • Prior experience delivering professional development and coaching teachers

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and other internet-based applications

  • Excellent professional and effective oral and written communications skills in English

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus

  • A deep commitment to CRIPCS's core values and ability to model those values in

    relationships with colleagues and partners

    Schedule Requirements: Must be available to work two evenings a week during the academic school year
