Responsibilities May Include: Troubleshoot mechanical problems and repair as necessary Complete preventative maintenance on all types of vehicles and equipment Diagnose and repair diesel/ gas engines Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems Complete DOT Inspections, COMAR Complete alignment check Complete A/C work Ability to maintain daily organization of all applicable paperwork pertaining to repair orders, parts orders Proven welding ability preferred Ability to work in an autonomous, safe and professional manner Participate in continuous ASE, dealer re-certification to remain in job classification. Must be able to read and comprehend service and repair manuals Provide professional and respectful treatment to drivers, visitors, employees and management. Ensures all personal protective equipment is used as required. Uses computers to issue parts and update comments on work orders/task list including Attach test instruments to equipment and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunction.. Maintain equipment and routine maintenance. Performs inspection, maintenance and repairs on heavy duty vehicles, such as trucks, etc. Job Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Preferably minimum 2+ years working in a busy automotive service department or independent mechanic shop Valid driver s license with no more than 2 moving violations preferred ASE certifications preferred Mechanical or Engineering Technician Certificate or Degree MUST HAVE your own basic mechanics tools and transportation Compensation + BENEFITS Competitive Performance Based Pay Programs Medical, Dental Paid Holidays Paid Vacation Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 1 - 3 years
